Saturday was the day of the UK National Qualifiers for V:TES. It was my first proper tournament so I wasn’t expecting a whole lot out of it except for a bit of a laugh. I was playing with my Giovanni, a deck I have had much fun with over the last 4-5 months or so as i’ve been refining it like crazy. And if there is anything i’ve learnt from the experience of playing with some of the best in the UK it’s this: My deck still needs work
I finished on 1.5 VP’s in the end after I managed to oust and then not be ousted by timeout, I won on that table as no-one else managed to oust so I was pretty happy in all.
After the 2.5 hour drive back I was pretty exhausted so I went pretty much straight to bed.

I searched high and low for a decent icon for OS-X (Leopard) of the Aperture Science Weighted Companion Cube but found none.
So I made my own… feel free to use it

I built this in Leopard but I assume it will work on earlier systems.

Liverpool are once again scoring goals, putting 4 past Toulouse to win 5-0 on agg earning qualification to the Champions League group stage.
And more good news with Blackpool seeing off Premier League side Derby County winning 7-6 on penalties after bringing it back to 2-2 in extra time progressing further in the Carling Cup!

So Blackpool make club history by winning 10 consecutive games by winning the playoff final, and pushing themselves into the Championship.
I’m now hoping they can hang on and stay up for the next few seasons and really build up a good team, then maybe one day, Premiership?

Liverpool I think played the best in the first half, certainly generated more chances, but the game was ruined by shoddy refereeing awarding free kicks for no reason. There really couldn’t have been a worse time for AC to score, 1 minute before the break, and it was probably a hand ball deflection to top it all off.
The second half was pretty even, again marred by bad refereeing, cumilating with the 3 mins of added time being reduced to less than 2 (taking into account the time-wasting and substitution by AC) which was pathetic. What could have been a fantastic final, was ruined and everyone i’ve spoken to, even the Manure fans, has agreed.
Well I have one more football match to watch, Blackpool vs Yeovil in the League 1 playoff final. Promotion would mean so much to the Seasiders finally getting in the same league as rivals Preston.
Come on Tangerines!

Thoughts? Well, it was ok, the effects were brilliant, but I couldn’t help think it could have been a better film. Oh well. The best thing had to be the cameo from Bruce Cambell, brilliant! I’m not going to go into the in’s and out’s but wtf was all that emo-petey about? Maybe this explains it.
Haha, and before you ask, the title is deliberately spelt wrong.

Found a very useful app that controls iTunes from your menu bar using simple buttons. You can also select any artists, playlists etc from here too, it means you don’t have to open the huge spreadsheet to control your music (something which always bugged me about iTunes)
So if you have a Mac nd use iTunes, check it out, best of all it’s free.
